Widely regarded as one of the greatest motorcycle racers of all time, Mike ‘The Bike’ Hailwood produced some of the most memorable performances in Isle of Man TT history.
Hailwood claimed 14 TT victories during an extraordinary career, including the first TT hat-trick in 1961 and another three-win week in 1967. Yet perhaps his greatest achievement came in 1978, when he returned to the Mountain Course after an 11-year absence and sensationally won the Formula One TT aboard a Ducati.
He returned once more in 1979 to claim his final TT victory in the Senior, completing one of motorcycle racing’s greatest comeback stories.
