In 2015 the Southern 100 road races celebrated sixty years
of the ‘friendly races’.
In those sixty years many greats including Joey Dunlop, Bob
McIntyre, Ian Lougher and Brian Reid have graced the meeting (and its podiums)
with their presence.
2015 saw another Southern 100 stalwart and road racing
legend take the coveted solo championship award – a popular win for fan
favourite Guy Martin.
Local star Dan Kneen was there to keep Guy honest and they
both had stiff competition from previous Southern 100 race winners Ivan Lintin,
Michael Dunlop and Dean Harrison.
The sidecars have long been a key attraction at the 4.25
mile Billown course, putting on spectacular displays for the crowd as they
battle for the lead on the narrow, bumpy roads which double as the circuit for
just a few days every year.
The Diamond Jubilee year was no exception to the rule and
the highly experienced field showed real class as they went hammer and tongs
for the sidecar championship - just six seconds separated the top three outfits
after eight laps!
Reeves, Holden, Bell, Harrison, Lambert, Birchall, Lockey,
Hope – all the big road racing names were there and they all wanted the win.
With full highlights of every race and plenty of camera
angles, including onboard, the official review brings the 2015 International
Southern 100 Road Races right into your home where you can enjoy the action
time and again.
