One of the most sensational newcomers at the Isle of Man TT
in recent years has been Gary Johnson, and in 2009 he had the honour of leading
away each race with the Number 1 plate.
He completed another steady run at the festival with a
magnificent third place in the blue riband Senior TT, a well-deserved reward
for one of the sport’s rising stars.
Johnson has become a firm favourite with fans for his
determined and flamboyant, particularly for his antics at the iconic Ballaugh Bridge.
In this spectacular image, taken by renowned road racing
photographer Stephen Davison, Johnson is seen leaping the bridge on the
Robinsons Concrete-backed Uel Duncan Honda Superbike during practice – the same
machine which would carry him to Senior TT podium glory.
