Gary Johnson is one of the rising stars of road racing,
not only for his riding style, but also for his great personality.
This fabulous photograph, captured by Stephen Davison,
shows exactly why Johnson made such an impact when he made his Isle of Man TT debut.
In his best-selling book Hard Roads, Davison describes
the story behind the picture.
‘Gary Johnson was a newcomer who wanted to make his mark
in some way at the 2007 Centenary TT. Although he rode to some creditable
finishes on the Ice Valley Yamaha, he will always be remembered as the guy who
jumped Ballaugh Bridge one-handed during the Senior TT.’
