Armoy Road Races 2016 - The Race of Legends Official Review
In 2016 Michael Dunlop reinforced the family link with the Armoy Road Races by sealing his sixth consecutive win in the Race of Legends.
The newest of Northern Ireland’s real road races, the meeting was conceived to celebrate the unique heritage of the ‘Armoy Armada’ - a famous group of riders, including Joey Dunlop and ‘Big Frank’ Kennedy, who cut their teeth on the local roads in the ‘70s.
It is fitting that the latest generation of Dunlop’s have become virtually synonymous with the meeting.
Alongside Michael, William Dunlop has been very successful over the years and 2016 proved to be no exception – on a 600cc William seems to be untouchable.
Don’t think this was just the Dunlop brother’s show, though, as stars such as Dan Kneen, Derek Sheils, Christian Elkin, James Cowton and more were there and fighting for podium finishes every inch of the way.
On the Official Review you’ll find highlights of all the major races, the thrills, jumps and spills of another action-packed day of World-class road racing from a corner of Northern Ireland that is steeped in the legends of the sport.
