It’s the biggest sporting event in Northern Ireland! The unforgettable
Northwest 200 is a unique experience of pure road racing and in 2000 the thrills
and spills came thick and fast. This official review of the day’s racing
features the most comprehensive coverage of the NW200 ever filmed, with action
from every race and plenty more besides! Yamaha dominated the field and the star
rider was unquestionably Michael Rutter who scored a hat trick of victories,
winning both Superbike Races and the Supersport 600 Race. Richard Britton
(Yamaha) was a deserved winner in the re-introduced Production Race and there
was victory in the 125 and 250 Races for Honda riders Ian Lougher and John
McGuinness respectively. Alongside the racing, there are plenty of interviews
and the most unbelievable on-board camera action. New camera angles around the
‘Triangle’ capture the riders as they hurtle round the course, and it’s all
brilliantly commentated on by the irrepressible Keith Huewen.
