Yamaha dominated the field and the star rider was unquestionably Michael Rutter who scored a hat trick of victories, winning both Superbike Races and the Supersport 600 Race. Richard Britton (Yamaha) was a deserved winner in the re-introduced Production Race and there was victory in the 125 and 250 Races for Honda riders Ian Lougher and John McGuinness respectively.
