Product description

Motorcycle Sport 1950 One of the first films made for the world famous Castrol Film Library portrays a wide range of motorcycle sport activity during 1950. Narrated in classic period style by Graham Walker (father of Murray Walker) this is 60 minutes of pure nostalgia.

Featuring:The Pioneer Run: The annual London to Brighton classic for veteran machines. The Lands End Trial: BSA's, Triumphs, Nortons etc. tackle the hills of Doverhay and Beggars Roost. Silverstone Saturday: Vintage and clubman's events from BEMSEE's popular meeting. Victory Trial: Geoff Duke wins on a Norton in the mud of Church Stretton. Senior TT: Duke again, this time winning his first TT. North v South Scramble: Dusty and bumpy action with team rivalry in Hampshire. Scottish Six Days Trail: Artie Ratcliffe wins on a Matchless in the magnificent scenery and sections of the north. International Six Days Trial: The review ends in the Welsh countryside for the ISDT, where the Great Britain teams won both the Vase and Trophy. (Black and White, with some Colour) Round the TT course with Geoff Duke 1952Duke narrates us around a lap of the TT course in this 1952 colour film and ponders on the possibility of a 100 mph lap being achieved. (It was to take a further five years after the film was made for Bob McIntyre to achieve the magic ton). (Colour)
